Since 2004, Conflict Resolution by Youth (CRY) Uganda has implemented annual regional and international youth and chidlren peace camps in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.
CRY has partnered with youth initiatives and associations from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and DR Congo to make the peace camps a success.
The peace camp in a unique forum designed by CRY Uganda professional team of expert to facilitate the participation, exchange, synergy-building, networking, advocacy,reflection and training of young people.
The CRY Uganda peace camp in an avenue of re-awakening by the young generation of its potential.
It has become, over years, an evenue where young people come to find themselves and resolve to make their own lives and those of others they care about better through personnel change and advancement.
Value-based Leadership has been appreciated, recognised and promoted from the CRY Uganda youth peace camps.
The CRY Uganda annual youth peace camps, have provided a rare space adn quality time for youth and chilren to meaningfully and critically analyse reflect, share, vent out experiences, view poitns, and demonstrate their potential, creativity in responding to, managing and preventing
world challenges.
Friendship spirit has been nurtured, and exemplified at and after the peace camps.
CRYUganda has used the peace camp environment to raise awareness about steorotypes adn facilitate the delegates to work towards breaking them and communicating the result thereafter to wider audiences.
The peace camps have been used to organise and mobilise youth and community members from within the peace camp venue to actively take part in global peace building campaigns such as the annual peace week, annual social forum, caravan for peace, human rights day, etc.
The CRY Uganda peace camps are serious avenues for promoting proactive citizens of the world.
CRY Uganda partnered with a host of organisations and individuals from all walks of life to make the annual CRY Uganda youth peace camps a top-level-rated youth and chidlren event.
CRY Uganda has had generous funding from Austrian Development Agency, ded, GTZ-Rwanda, Save the Children in Uganda, War on Want- Northern Ireland, EU Civil Soceity Capacity Building Programme, Action Aid International Uganda, GTZ Great Lakes office, ded Rwanda , Norwegian Peoples Agency, Musicians without Borders, IFOR/Women Peace Makers Programme.
In 2009, the Annual youth peace camp will be held in Kitgum district in Northern Uganda (East Africa).
Delegates expected: 300
delegates from which countires: all over the world
age-limits: 14 to 30 yrs (delegates under 18yrs must have a written permission from parents or legal next of kin, permitted them to travel to attend CRY Uganda peace camp 2009.
registration fee: US$ 125 for early bird (payment received before July 25th 2009)
late registration fee; US$ 135 (Payment received after 30th July 25th 2009).
The peace camp will last 7 days.
